Boat Ramp at Chimney Park

Chimney Park is one of the few RV resorts in the Rio Grande Valley that has a boat ramp on site. The fishing in this part of the river is very good and the Texas Wildlife department periodically stocks the river with bass and catfish both upstream at Bentsen Rio Grande State Park and downstream at Anzalduas dam.

The chimney (in the background of this photo) from the "first lift station" of the Mission Canal and Irrigation company is a Texas historical monument. Posted by Picasa

Bass Fishing Rio Grande

The Rio Grande Valley has some excellent Bass fishing. Favorite south Texas spots along the Rio Grande river include Anzalduas County Park, Chimney Park RV Resort, Bentsen Rio Grande Valley Start Park and Falcon Dam.

Bass anglers can expect to find largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, stripers, and other species of bass.

As always, catch and release is recommened.
